I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
